FIJI STAG 9/24/06

The core group played on this beautiful Sunday morning. We played two sets of tennis before RAT.

Salsa Tasting:

John brought Essensia Southwest (Medium) salsa from Albertson. The ratings were: 7.5, 7.5, 7.8, 8.2. Average: 7.75

Two birds showed up but they did not partake in the salsa tasting. They were probably boycotting the event. The club has cleared the bushes and trees along the fence outside the tennis courts, and we suspect the nests of these blue jays have been cleared also.

Tennis:

Zack and John defeated Cyp and Larry 6-1, 6-3.

SALSA TASTING

Larry brought Renfro's Habanero (hot). The ratings were: 7.4, 7.4, 7.7, 7.0. Average: 7.38.

There was no sight of the Bird. Maybe the stuffed animal on the fence scared him off.

Rich and Larry defeated Zack and John 6-3, 6-1.

FIJI 9/10/06

The FIJI players were all present on this overcast Sunday morning. The sun didn't come out at all during tennis, but we had a glimpse of it towards the end of RAT.

SALSA TASTING
Cyp brought his homemade salsa whose main ingredients were tomato, corn and lemon. The ratings were: 8.3, 8.0, 8.0, 8.5. Average: 8.20.

The Bird showed up but did not participate, although he ate some salsa-free chips.

TENNIS
John and Larry defeated Zack and Cyp the first game 6-3.
Cyp and Zack defeated John and Larry the second game 6-1.
We did not play a third set or a tie breaker. Everybody seemed to be anxious to partake in RAT.

FIJI STAG

SUNDAY - SEPT. 3, 2006

The morning was gray and cold. This is still supposed to be summer. The FIJI STAG group met to play at 9 AM. This was a rematch of the previous Sunday since the outcome last week did not alter the players' position in the ratings.

This week John/Larry bested Zack/Cyp in two close sets 6-3, 7-6. The outcome of this weeks' match was close enough that it may not affect the rating positions of the players.

SALSA TASTING

This week Zack provided Safeway Select Salsa Verde-Medium for the tasting. Zack was not present at the tasting since he went to jail. Larry gets partial credit since he provided the bowl for the salsa. Zack took his bowl to jail with him. The salsa got the following rating:
